A Step Forward: New Security Company at Savoy Park After a Year of Tenant Advocacy

After more than a year of organizing, rallying, and persistent advocacy, the Savoy Park Tenants Union is proud to share a significant win: Fairstead Management has finally onboarded a new security company, Security USA, as of March 17, 2025.

This change is a direct result of sustained pressure by tenants and allies who have repeatedly raised alarms about unsafe and unmonitored conditions throughout the complex. From broken gates and non-functioning intercoms to squatters and a rising number of violent incidents, residents made it clear: we deserve to feel safe in our homes.

Over the past 12 months, tenant leaders met with Fairstead Management, elected officials, and community supporters to demand meaningful action. Despite delays and vague promises, the Tenants Union never stopped pushing. This new partnership with Security USA comes after countless calls, emails, meetings, rallies, and community testimonies demanding security that actually serves and protects the people living at Savoy Park.

In a statement, Fairstead Management said:

“We are pleased to provide a follow-up to our March 14th communication regarding the introduction of our new security company, Security USA. The new company was successfully onboarded on March 17th and has already begun making a positive impact in our community, which we expect will continue into the future.”

While we welcome this step in the right direction, tenants remain clear-eyed: real accountability means sustained results. We will continue monitoring the presence, professionalism, and effectiveness of this new security team to ensure they are responsive to tenant needs and actually improving safety within the complex.
